Held every four years the US presidential election is set to take place on November 3. The Republican President Donald Trump is running against the democratic party challenger Joe Biden. He was vice president during the presidency of Barack Obama. The new president is scheduled to be sworn in on January 20,2021. Who of them would be the better president? Who has better chances of winning the election?

At first we have to look at the last four years of Donald Trump as the leader of the USA. He withdrew from the Paris Agreement, the World Health Organization and the Iran nuclear deal. Furthermore he made sure that American energy Independence can be guaranteed by the use of fossil fuels, which clearly wasn´t seen as a success by others around the world. He tries to convince the people that China is a major threat to the whole country. Trump claims that China tries to weaken the American economy and that they are the reason for the Coronavirus pandemic. On his twitter account the president names Covid-19 “the China-virus”. Additionally Trump tries to weaken his competitor Biden by saying “Joe Biden surrendered your jobs to China and now he wants to surrender our country to the violent left-wing mob and your seeing that every night. If Biden wins, China wins.”
Biden, on the other hand, declared that Trump´s politics are the reason for the bad economy. In his opinion his competitor is responsible for the high rate of coronavirus related deaths because he doesn´t take the pandemic seriously. This idea is supported by the infection of the president. Trump was in the hospital and released rapidly even though he hadn´t recovered. In addition he unnecessarily went out for a drive and risked the infection of his driver and his security staff. Such behavior plays into the hands of Joe Biden, who takes the pandemic and the climate change seriously. Biden wants to repair the relationship between America and foreign countries. Besides he directly wants to join the Paris Agreement again because he says he won´t ignore the scientists like his competitor.
Weighing the chances of Trump and the chances of Biden there´s no clear hint at who is going to become the new president. After the US presidential election debate Trump seemed to have the upper hand. The reason for this was that he is really aggressive whenever he debates and the strategy of Biden trying to keep calm didn´t work out because he accepted the level of speaking Trump proposed and called him “clown” or said “Shut up!”. Because Biden mostly kept calm Trump was able to dictate the debate. Before the debate and about a week afterwards it seemed different. As we might all know Trump doesn´t seem to take the virus extremely seriously because of trying to reopen the American economy fast. His immodest interview after his stay at the hospital made his attitude clear again. He tries to show that the coronavirus is like a small illness and that he feels better than before, which surely isn´t the truth. He, as the president, is an extremely irresponsible role-model and we can see that the people realize how he behaves. In the recent polls Biden was ahead of Trump.
To sum it up one can say that this election will be decisive for the future of America and the result is not quite clear yet. Even though Biden seems to be ahead of Trump right now a lot can happen until November 3. It will be interesting to see who wins the presidential election.
